Multi-award-winning Sky News correspondent Alex Crawford is moving to Johannesburg in a shake up of the broadcaster’s foreign bureaux.
Crawford is currently based in Dubai and has spent much of the last year covering uprisings in North Africa and the Middle East, including recent reports from the war-torn Libyan cities of Zawiya and Misratah.
In other foreign bureau moves, chief correspondent Stuart Ramsay is being transferred from Delhi to Dubai and Emma Hurd is leaving Johannesburg for Jerusalem as Middle East correspondent.
Dominic Waghorn is leaving Jerusalem to take up the role of US correspondent, replacing Robert Nisbet who is moving to Brussels as Europe correspondent. Alex Rossi, meanwhile, takes up the post of India correspondent in Delhi.
Sky News has appointed Five News’ Jonathan Samuels to join its foreign team as Australia correspondent, replacing Ian Woods who returns to Sky News in the UK after setting up the bureau last year.
Crawford, who grew up in Nigeria, Zambia and Zimbabwe, is the only broadcaster to win three Royal Television Society Journalist of the Year awards.
