Just one of the UK’s major consumer magazine publishers circulated more copies in the first half of this year than in the same period in 2008, ABC data has revealed.
Here we look at 10 of the biggest publishing houses and the titles that fared the best (and worst) in the latest consumer magazine ABCs.
Bauer Consumer Media
Total circulation down 6.1%
Biggest rise: More up 17.3% to 190,708
Biggest fall: Zoo down 31.2% to 111,012
BBC Worldwide
Total circulation down 8.5%
Biggest riser: Olive rose 1.1% to 86,117
Biggest fall: Toybox fell 43.3% to 41,582
The ABC breaks out BBC Worldwide titles produced in Bristol in their own category. As a total, joint circulation between the two fell by 7.2% with BBC Bristol’s History magazine the biggest climber – up 9.15% to 63,888.

Total circulation down 5.8%
Biggest rise: Vanity Fair up 0.5% to 101,698
Biggest fall: Easy Living down 10.5% to 180,034
Dennis Publishing
Total circulation down 1.0%
Biggest rise: The Week up 10.3% to 165,609
Biggest fall: Evo down 15.5% to 74,201
Future Publishing
Total circulation rose 0.8%
Biggest rise: Classic Rock up 5.5% to 70,301
Biggest fall: Metal Hammer down 5.2% to 46,004

Total circulation down 4.9%
Biggest rise: Bella up 27.4% to 243,991
