The Evening Standard is to publish a series of weekly film essays by guest writers, in changes resulting from the death of film critic Alexander Walker.
Walker died in July, aged 73, after 44 years as the Standard’s film critic.
The first essay will be by novelist Will Self. The column will then rotate between various writers. As lead film critic, Neil Norman will review the other cinema releases, assisted by Antonia Quirke who has joined as his deputy. She was formerly deputy film critic of the Independent on Sunday.
