The owner of national speech radio station TalkSport has reported a nine per cent year-on-year slump in revenue in the four months to the end of April.
UTV said that despite the revenue drop, the company still achieved the operating profit it was expecting.
Radio revenue was down 15 per cent but UTV said that decline looked set to slow down in May and June, down about nine per cent compared with the same period last year.
Revenue from television – UTV owns the Northern Ireland ITV franchise – was forecast to be down 20 per cent in the half-year to the end of June.
The group said it continued to focus on cost reductions and remained confident about its full-year performance.
