Kieran Long has been confirmed as the new editor of Emap’s Architects’ Journal.
Long, the launch deputy editor of Icon magazine and its principal architecture critic, has also been deputy editor of Building Design and World Architecture magazines.
He has been a lecturer, tutor, author, curator and broadcaster, having appeared on BBC News 24 and the Culture Show, as well as BBC London, and most recently the World Service, commentating on architecture and design.
Long replaces Isabel Allen who resigned in February this year. She has returned to architecture after 11 years in publishing.
Ruth Slavid has been promoted to an executive editorial management role.
She previously edited AJ Specification and other supplements, running conferences, events and most recently heading up the online development for the AJ as part of the Emap Communications web brand development.
