Private Eye remains the market leader in the news and current affairs sector after reporting a 9.6 per cent sales bump year on year to 226,047 in the first half of the year.
The fortnightly satirical title may well be feeling the benefits of promotional activity around its 50th birthday last year.
Reed Business Information’s New Scientist was one of the few titles in the sector to see sales dip uear on year, 4.4 per cent to 88,588.
Other notable performers included Monocle (up 9.5 per cent to 72,427) and The Oldie (up 4.8 per cent 42,314).
