Media Buddies, an online reunion service for media people, has launched.
The website is aimed at working, retired and freelance print, radio, television and online broadcast journalists, news photographers as well as executives from the world of public relations, advertising, market research and design.
Site founder David Davis said: “The media is an inter-related, fast-moving and highly mobile world in which people quickly make friends and contacts – then as situations change they can just as quickly lose touch with one another. Media Buddies has been created to help find and renew these lost friendships.”
The idea for Media Buddies was born when Davis was clearing out a cupboard and came across a press cuttings book from his first job at the Croydon Times. He wondered what had happened to his old colleagues on the weekly and the colleagues and contacts he had made during a career that included journalism (Press Association, The Times) and public relations (Edelman, Medialink Worldwide, Rainier PR and na europe).
The website can be found at www.mediabuddies.com.
