Former Birmingham Post editor Marc Reeves returns to Trinity Mirror as Midlands publishing director

By Press Gazette

Three years after leaving his job as Birmingham Post editor, Marc Reeves has rejoined Trinity Mirror in the newly created position of publishing director for the Midlands.

Reeves left Trinity Mirror in January 2010 after the Post went from daily to weekly. He was then launch editor of the West Midlands edition of TheBusinessDesk.com, an independent business news website, and then left that job at the end of 2012 to set up his own public affairs consultancy.

In his new job Reeves will have responsibility for all publishing activity across the Midlands as well as management of the region on a day-to-day basis.

Editor-in-chief of the Midlands titles David Brookes will report directly into Reeves, and Trinity said that the “commercial team will work closely with the publishing director”.

Trinity Mirror’s regional managing director Simon Edgley said: “I am delighted that Marc will be joining us as publishing director for the Midlands business.

“As we develop our publishing strategy across both digital and print platforms, it is essential that we continue innovating and moving forward at pace. Key to this is having the right people in place and Marc’s knowledge and experience will ensure our brands remain an essential part of our readers’ every day lives.”
