Regional media publisher Archant has rewarded staff with a £200 Christmas bonus saying that it is on track to meet its business targets.
Chief executive Adrian Jeakings said: “2009 has been a very difficult year for consumer media and Archant has not been spared the ravages of the recession. However, I am delighted to be able to tell you that we are on track to hit the targets that we set at the beginning of the year, before the full scale of the downturn had become apparent.
“This has been achieved through the hard work and dedication of all of our people. I am proud that we have managed to get through the worst recession for 80 years whilst accelerating our development activities, in anticipation of the recovery.”
It follows news from Tindle Newspapers, another privately owned regional media group, earlier this month that it was paying all staff a bonus of between £100 and £300.
Telegraph Media Group has also reinstated its Christmas bonus this year, giving all staff an extra £500.
