Press Gazette is launching a new comprehensive jobs site for journalists, with more than 400 jobs available from its debut on 12 September.
Jobs4journalists.co.uk will offer a service for jobseekers who are interested in working in both journalism and PR – with vacancies posted from local papers to news agencies, magazine subbing to corporate PR.
It is designed to be easily navigable, allowing users to search by salary, location and job title. Users can also post their CV into a database and will be contacted by e-alerts when jobs matching their criteria come up.
Nick Ratcliffe, publishing director of Press Gazette, said: ‘There is already a high level of trust between Press Gazette and its community. We see it as our responsibility to service that community with a comprehensive, independent product that people can trust.
‘We’re not tied to a national newspaper, we’re not a by-product of several publishing groups and we’re not an amalgam of websites that are leftfield. We see that as being a strong reason why people would want to come to us to look for jobs.”
Press Gazette was acquired by Wilmington at the end of last year, after a turbulent time that saw the publication go into administration.
Ratcliffe said that the job site, along with the recent redesign of the magazine and website, is another part of Wilmington’s ongoing investment in Press Gazette.
‘We are investing in getting Press Gazette back on track, and we’re putting it back properly rather than just patching it up. Nobody else delivers as much unbiased content as Press Gazette.”
Meanwhile, the closing date for the Press Gazette Magazine Design and Journalism Awards 2007 has been extended until 13 September.
