London’s paid-for evening paper the Evening Standard today announced a “green” version of its Eros loyalty card, designed to help readers “offset their carbon emissions”.
The paper said that green card users will fund a series of carbon offsetting projects around the world, run by ClimateCare.
The card, launched last September, allows readers to pay for copies of the Standard instead of using cash. Customers buy credit online and buy copies by placing the card on a yellow pad on vendors’ stalls, similar to the London transport network’s Oyster card.
