Some are still spluttering in their cornflakes about John Witherow’s recent do on a Saturday night.
Why, some ask, does the editor of The Sunday Times host a party when he should be editing the next day’s paper? Good point. Among the guests was Martin Ivens, Witherow’s deputy.
So who exactly was in charge?
I am, however, reliably informed that the party had three reasons: Witherow’s wife Sarah turned 50, his son Sam was 21, while his other son, Roly, celebrated his 18th birthday.
So now we know.
