One of the Newcastle Evening Chronicle’s best-known members of staff is to feature in a glossy advertisement for the evening newspaper.
“Smiley” has been with the Chronicle for 15 years, occupying the prime vending pitch next to Grey’s Monument in the centre of the city. He has been recruited by the Trinity Mirror-owned title to feature in a series of promotional ads for the paper in home game Newcastle United programmes.
