Sky News has launched a new partnership with The Times to provide the newspaper’s website with video content.
Starting this week, Sky News headlines, showbiz and weather clips will be streamed on Times Online TV.
Sky News editor of networked media, Steve Bennedik, said: “We’re sitting on a fantastic engine, which is a 24-hour news operation that’s collecting masses of content. Not of all of it is necessarily going out on Sky News on the linear channel.
“This gives us the perfect opportunity for us to provide it in a non-linear world in a variety of formats, whether that’s mobile or broadband or whatever world we are in.”
The majority of the content will come straight from Sky News, although some unique content from Sky’s interactive television service will also be available.
Last month, ITN announced that it was to provide branded video content to the Telegraph website featuring some of the paper’s best-known journalists.
The Guardian is also launching an online video content service.
