A competition for professional photographers covering this year’s FA Cup is being launched by the Nationwide Building Society.
There are two prizes: the Nationwide FA Cup Photograph of the Year and the Nationwide FA Cup Photographer of the Year.
The Photographer of the Year award will be for the best portfolio of three pictures from the competition.
Photographers should submit their entries for both categories by 9 April.
This will enable them to include images from the semi-final stage of this season’s competition on Sunday, 4 April.
The winners will be announced during an evening event hosted by Nationwide at an exhibition of the entries in Cardiff on 21 May, the eve of the FA Cup Final at the Millennium Stadium. Both winners will receive a specially commissioned trophy.
Entrants must submit three 10in by 8in photographs for the Photographer of the Year category and one 12in by 10in photograph for the Photograph of the Year category.
The larger photograph may be one of the portfolio of three photographs submitted for the Photographer of the Year category.
Photographs may be landscape or portrait and in black and white or colour and must have been taken in the FA Cup competition during the 2003-2004 season.
Photographs should be submitted to Chris Hull, sponsorship media manager, Nationwide Building Society (B2), Pipers Way, Swindon SN38 1NW.
The judging panel will include senior football managers and 1974 World Cup Final referee Jack Taylor.
