Rosamond Hutt has been appointed news editor of the Press Association's Community Newswire.
Hutt has been a reporter on the service, which is based at the PA centre in Howden, East Yorkshire, since October 2005. She will report to head of production (news) Alan Marshall.
The newswire, which reports on charities, is a partnership between the Press Association and registered charity Media Trust and is funded by the Cabinet Office's Office of the Third Sector.
Its stories appear on the main PA wire and on Communitynewswire.org Hutt said: "It is an exciting time for the Community Newswire. We are expanding our coverage of small charities, community groups and ethnic and religious minorities to reach sections of British society often overlooked by the mainstream media."
