Jeff Randall, the BBC’s business editor is returning to newspapers,
as the editor-at-large at the Daily Telegraph, writing a column twice a
week on business.
“Jeff is a marvellous acquisition for The Daily
Telegraph,” said editor Martin Newland. “He talks and writes about
complex financial matters in a language people understand. And he does
it with extraordinary authority.”
Randall has been at the BBC for
four years. During his time at the Corporation, he has revolutionised
the business and financial coverage, making it more accessible and
livelier.
He will continue to do some work for the BBC, including hosting Weekend Business, the Sunday radio show on Radio Five Live.
Randall’s
extensive newspaper experience includes a six-year spell as City Editor
of the Sunday Times and three years as editor of Sunday Business (now
The Business).
He said:.”I have had a great time at the BBC, but
the chance to write a column in Britain’s best-read quality newspaper
is just too great to say no to. I can’t wait to get started”.
