The Observer is to continue its occasional series of Uncovered supplements with the 64-page Body Uncovered, writes Dominc Ponsford The supplement is published free with the main newspaper this Sunday and follows on from Drugs Uncovered (April 2002), Crime Uncovered (October 2002) and Drugs Uncovered (April 2003).
It is being designed and written in-house and will include features on fitness, makeovers, surgery and sex. It will also include the results of a specially commissioned ICM poll which has found, among other things, that 42 per cent of British women would consider surgery to improve their bodies.
The Observer is promoting the supplement with radio and television advertising and also by placing postcards at gyms throughout the country and by giving away pears carrying promotional stickers.
Crime Uncovered won the Magazine of the Year and the Best Designed Newspaper Supplement of the Year at the Magazine Design Awards 2003.
