B magazine has promoted Viki Wilson to deputy editor ahead of a relaunch in the July issue. She has been associate editor (features) since joining B in February 2003. She succeeds Sarah Maber, who left to join the features team on Red as commissioning editor.
B will unveil a dramatic revamp later this month following the appointment of editor Francis Sheen. B’s publisher, Hachette Filipacchi, is hoping to reverse the sales decline of 14 per cent in the latest ABCs.
Wilson’s appointment has coincided with a shake-up on the features desk, as Sheen plans to strengthen B’s showbiz contacts by creating the post of entertainment editor.
Wilson began her career on surfing title Wavelength in 1995 before moving to agency South West News Service and then Bella, where she moved up from writer to commissioning editor. In 1999, she joined Cosmopolitan, where she was promoted to deputy features editor before leaving in February 2002 to become deputy editor on the Daily Mail’s website
