The publishing team behind free glossy lifestyle publications such as The Resident and Grove is launching a new countryside lifestyle magazine. From Friday, those living in more "exclusive" parts of London will receive Country House for free through their letterbox.
Annoushka Ducas, founder of Links of London, Mark Esiri, chairman of Smythsons, and Jeremy Isaac, former chief executive of publisher Highbury House, have teamed up to produce a luxury lifestyle magazine for affluent Londoners looking to buy property in the countryside.
Editor Lucy Cleland, previously of Condé Nast contract publishing, said "The premise is that you have lots of country magazines that are very twee and oldie country, and you've got lots of London magazines, so we've taken a London slant on a country magazine."
The magazine will have a property section at the back, 45 pages of editorial and 35 pages of lifestyle advertising.
Contributors already lined up include Rachel Johnson of The Spectator and Times columnist Thomasina Miers.
It will be delivered to 75,000 "better off" Londoners.
