REVAMPS
Hip-Hop Connection
Sector: music
Publisher: Infamous Inc
Price: £3.25
Print run: 25,000 plus 3,000 for export.
Now in its 15th year, rap magazine Hip-Hop Connections has been redesigned and revamped to be more punchy, says editor Andy Cowan. News has been condensed on to one page in response to the availability of information on the web. “Before we were predominantly heavy on interviews so we’ve tried to corral those into smaller profiles and more commentory,” says Cowan. “For every large interview there is a counter opinion so there is more critical evaluation.” The 92-page relaunched issues has a cover interview with rapper 50 Cent, features on rappers’ muses and a tribute to Run-DMC’s former DJ Jam Master Jay. New items include “Fight club”, which charts the latest bust-ups in the rap world and a club section,
figures and an improved reviews section.
