The Kent Messenger group is the latest regional newspaper to launch a video news bulletin service on its website.
The group is showing three video reports a day on its kentonline website.
Each journalist on one of the group’s KMFM radio stations presents bulletins on a rota basis, while web journalist Andy Winter films them.
The BBC began a local TV pilot with video bulletins available to watch on broadband and digital TV in the West Midlands last December, and many in the regional press have criticised the move.
The Hull Daily Mail and its sister paper the East Riding Mail, as well as the Newbury Weekly News, are also offering video versions of their printed stories.
Hull Daily Mail assistant editor Paul Hartley, in charge of the video content, said the Mail and every other newspaper in the country could only provide video bulletins if it made business sense.
He said: "We don’t have the luxury of being able to operate in a completely market-free economy like the BBC. We haven’t got licence-fee money to prop up our ideas."
