Keenaghan is editor of MacDonald’s news show

By Press Gazette

Fiona Keenaghan has been appointed as the new editor of ITV’s current affairs series Tonight With Trevor MacDonald.

Keenaghan, currently deputy editor of the programme, will take up the role at the beginning of May, when she returns from maternity leave.

She will replace outgoing editor Jeff Anderson, who was recently appointed as controller of current affairs and documentaries for ITV after Dominic Crossley-Holland’s role as controller for current affairs, arts and religion was closed.

Crossley-Holland’s departure came less than a year after he was promoted to controller of the department. This followed the departure of Steve Anderson, who quit ITV when news was removed from his remit.

Keenaghan joined Tonight in 2000 as a producer and was made deputy editor in 2003.
