Geoff Grimmer, former deputy news editor of the Coventry Evening Telegraph, died on 8 July. He was 75.
Born in New Zealand, he worked for the Evening Telegraph paper for almost 25 years.
He joined as an assistant local government reporter, later becoming education correspondent before joining the news desk.
He retired from his post in December 1989.
Evening Telegraph editor Alan Kirby said: "Geoff was a dedicated journalist who was well respected by his colleagues and all those he came into contact with in his work."
Grimmer, who lived in Warwick, leaves a widow, Val.
