Buses Focus, the magazine aimed at bus enthusiasts, has gone full colour in an effort to boost its profile on the news-stands. The quarterly, owned by Ian Allan Publishing, was previously half mono and half colour.
Editor Gavin Booth said: “We had been artificially constrained by the fact we had a mix of colour and black and white. It meant that a lot of good material used in black and white would have been more successful in colour.
“We haven’t changed the design but it certainly looks much brighter and fresher.”
The changes are introduced in the summer issue, which is out on 20 June with a cover price of £3.75. It examines the London bus scene following the introduction by Ken Livingstone of congestion charging and also looks at a day in the life of a bus driver.
