Pearson has appointed Rona Fairhead as chief executive of Financial
Times Group and made John Ridding chief exec of the Financial Times and
FT.com.
Fairhead is currently Pearson’s chief financial officer – FT
Group includes international business newspapers and financial
magazines and Ineractive Data Corporation as well as the FT newspaper.
FT Group also has joint stakes in the FTSE and the Economist Group.
Ridding is currently editor and publisher of the Asia edition of
the Financial Times and chairman of Pearson in Asia.
Current FT chief exec Olivier Fleurot will move to Pearson to “develop
plans for applying emerging digital technologies in the publishing and
information industries.”
