Freelances owed

By Press Gazette

Journalists working for the Chartered Institute of Marketing magazine Marketing Business are owed thousands of pounds after the contract publishing agency which produced the title went into receivership.

The title, which provides in-depth coverage for marketing practitioners and PRs, was produced by The Communications Team until the agency went into receivership last month. The contract has now been awarded to Just Communications.

Annabel Pritchard, corporate affairs manager at the Chartered Institute of Marketing, said CIM had been in contact with four freelances awaiting payment and said the institute now planned to pay them direct.

“Normally it would have to go through the receivers, but we are paying the journalists’ fees direct because we want to keep good relations with them,” she told Press Gazette.
