Reuters has appointed Guy Dresser, editor of Associated Newspapers’
This is Money, as UK editor of Reuters.co.uk, and the company’s mobile
and interactive TV services.
The appointment supports Reuters’ plans to develop a series of
new digital services targeted at consumers in the areas of news,
business information and financial investment. Based in London, Dresser
will manage editorial coverage for these services in the UK.
Dresser
has more than 15 years’ experience in the national, regional and online
press. Before working at This is Money he launched and ran the BBC’s
Business and Money website.
Dresser said: “I’m delighted to be
joining Reuters at such an interesting time. This is a great
opportunity to expand the consumer offering at Reuters and I’m very
much looking forward to being part of that work.”
Reuters has
also appointed Emily Church as US editor of Reuters.com and the
company’s mobile and interactive TV services in the US.
She joins
Reuters after a seven-year stint with MarketWatch, most recently as
bureau chief in London covering European markets and general news, and
before this as bureau chief in New York. She also worked as an editor
of the first Fox News website, also in New York. She started her career
at Reuters as a foreign correspondent covering business, finance,
political and general news in the former Czechoslovakia.
