Publisher Felix Dennis is headlining an evening of poetry and performance at the Royal Shakespeare Company’s Swan Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon on Sunday.
RSC actors will combine Dennis’s poetry with Shakespearean vignettes.
The fundraising event for the RSC will be filmed by US news magazine programme 60 Minutes. It follows Dennis’s ‘Did I Mention the Free Wine?’ tour in November last year, celebrating the launch of A Glass Half Full, his first volume of poetry.
Again, Dennis will be sharing some of the contents of his fine wine cellar with the audience. Dennis said: “I write poetry for those who have given up on modern poetry – for people who feel abandoned or excluded by its apparent obscurity and aloofness. Shakespeare proved that poetry and popular enjoyment are in no way mutually exclusive.”
Tickets are available from the RSC box office on 0870 609 1110.
