Daneff puts down roots at Gardenlife

By Press Gazette

Gardenlife, the new gardening title from Seven Publishing, has hired Daily Telegraph gardening editor Tiffany Daneff to be its new editor.

Daneff is currently responsible for the Telegraph’s pull-out gardening supplement on Saturdays, which she launched in March 2001. She joined the Telegraph as commissioning editor on the Weekend section, writing features on property and fashion before focusing on its gardening coverage.

Prior to that she worked as a freelance journalist, writing for the Telegraph, Daily Mail and Evening Standard.

Gardenlife will be her first magazine editorship and what she is most looking forward to is more space.

“I have never got enough space here to do all that I’d like to, so it’s a great opportunity to have a bigger canvas.,” she told Press Gazette.

Daneff will head a 12-strong team and take over from launch editor Paula McWaters, who is to become a consultant editor.

Gardenlife plans to target a new generation of “lifestyle gardeners” who regard their gardens as an “outside room”, according to Seamus Geoghegan, managing director of Seven Publishing.

Gardenlife is the second launch from Seven Publishing, which also holds the UK licence to publish Australian food glossy Delicious.
