IT trade title CTO (Computer Trade Only) will cease publication as a standalone title to be incorporated into its new owner’s trade magazine.
CTO, which has been published for 10 years as a fortnightly title, will be absorbed into Intent Media’s trade monthly PC Retail, after it was bought from IT Trade Publishing Limited, a subsidiary of Trinity Mirror.
Only one of the eight staff made redundant from CTO worked on the editorial side, editor Jo Sawyer.
Intent Media said it will fully incorporate CTO into PC Retail, where total circulation will be increased and editorial remit will be widened across both print and online. CTO has a circulation of 16,099 while PC Retail had a figure of 10,493 in the last yearly ABCs audit up to December 2005.
Stuart Dinsey, Intent managing director, said: “By incorporating CTO we hope to become a one-stop shop for the sector. Some B2B markets are under pressure in terms of advertising budgets and are better served by just having one title rather than smaller titles.”
Intent Media also publishes MCV: The Market for Home Computing & Video Games, Mobile Entertainment, Develop Magazine, ToyNews, Musical Instrument Professional and BikeBiz.
