Wisden Group has sold The Wisden Cricketer monthly magazine to BSkyB Publications, and the publisher's other title The Oldie, has been bought by private investors.
The Wisden Cricketer was launched in 2003 and is edited by John Stern who will continue in the same role after the magazine's transfer to Sky. Sky Publications said it will retain the magazine's current editorial and commercial teams.
The Oldie has been sold to a group of investors led by the magazine's former business manager, James Pembroke. Founded in 1992 by Richard Ingrams and edited by him, The Oldie was bought in 2001 by Wisden Group.
The Wisden Group will continue to publish its iconic Wisden Cricketers' Almanack and develop its growing cricket website Cricinfo and the ball-tracking technology Hawk-Eye.
