Guardian Newspapers chief executive Carolyn McCall has revealed
plans for the company to follow News International and further expand

Last week Times editor Robert Thomson revealed that
his paper was to start publishing a US edition in New York this week,
to coincide with the start of the World Cup.
She told delegates
at the World Newspapers Congress in Moscow: "Our ambition is to be the
leading global liberal voice." And she has revealed that the company is
soon to announce expansion of its US web operation, more US-based staff
and development of a print product.
In March, the latest month
for which there are full ABC Electronic figures, Guardian Unlimited was
