Matthew Line, editor of The National Magazine Company’s relaunched She, has stepped down from the post.
The award-winning former editor of IPC’s Homes & Gardens was recruited to NatMags two years ago for the relaunch of the 50-year-old monthly as a more homes-focused title. The move resulted in the sacking of most of its staff.
The new She was unveiled last October and showed a 5.7 per cent sales increase in the July to December 2005 period, although it recorded a 13.5 per cent sales decrease year on year due to the steep fall in its sales pre-relaunch.
Line said: "I have thoroughly enjoyed the time I have spent at NatMags and I feel immensely proud of what we have created in the new She. I always saw this as a project with a finite timescale and having spent the last two years creating something new, I now feel it is time for me to move on and look for fresh challenges".
Lindsay Nicholson, NatMags’ editorial director, will oversee the magazine until a new editor is appointed.
