Your article about the DoH evaluation (Press Gazette, 26 August)
conveyed an almost sinister image of researchers “compiling a dossier”
and “ranking” journalists. I don’t think the health hacks need worry
too much – this type of research is a common tool used by many private
and public sector PR practitioners to independently assess their media
strategies, based on fairly crude calculations of coverage.
With
the DoH comms budget no doubt in six figures, I would be more
concerned, frankly, if these efforts to communicate important messages
to the public via the media were NOT being measured.
Page three lead? Sounds like silly season is upon us!
