The Financial Times has appointed John Thornhill as editor of its European edition.
Thornhill,
right, who is currently the newspaper’s Paris bureau chief, will be
responsible for the continental European edition, both in print and
online, and coordinating the FT’s European coverage. He will continue
to be based in Paris.
Since joining the FT in 1988, Thornhill has been world news editor, Asia editor, Moscow bureau chief and a Lex columnist.
Editor Andrew Gowers said: “I am delighted to announce this appointment.
John
is an outstanding journalist with a deep knowledge of Europe. He will
ensure the FT strengthens its position as Europe’s business newspaper.”
Thornhill replaces Brian Groom, who has been appointed comment and analysis editor. He takes up his new role on 1 September.
