Weekly nursing journal Nursing Standard has gone compact following research that revealed “heavily laden”
midwives, nurses and health visitors wanted a lighter read.
The
subscription title, which has a circulation of nearly 70,000, has also
added new features and more pages, while retaining its research
section, art&science. The overall brief from the Royal College of
Nursing, which publishes the title, was to produce a magazine that was
“lighter, brighter and whiter”.
Editor Jean Gray said: “Our
readers told us they really appreciate the content of Nursing Standard
but it is time for a fresher, more modern design.
“Size is an
important consideration for our busy, heavily-laden nurses, midwives
and health visitors and we hope they will appreciate this change.”
The new Nursing Standard reached newsstands and subscribers on 6 April.
