Total Film, the monthly magazine published by Future, is creating a new senior editorial team.
Matt Mueller, who has been editor of the publication for the past
six years, has been promoted to the new position of editor-at-large
with immediate effect.
Working alongside the new team and
publisher Simon Maxwell, Mueller will continue to play a pivotal role
in the development of the magazine which, under his editorship, has
seen 10 successive ABC rises.
Recruitment is under way for his
replacement, as well as for a new deputy editor, following Simon
Crook’s promotion to contributing editor.
With plans to launch a
website later in the year the company is also looking to hire an online
editor to oversee Total Film Online which will carry specially written
web content and the latest movie news.
Mueller said of his
appointment: “My role will be less hands on. I will be more involved in
boosting our profile in the industry, acting as an ambassador and
capitalising on the movie culture. We are also looking to make a
significant investment in the website as it’s pretty bare bones at the
moment.”
