Photography group NewsCast has appointed Stewart Goldstein as its chief executive following his acquisition of the majority shareholding in the company.
Goldstein joined the board of the company in 2001 and was previously creative director.
Finance director William Newlands has been made managing director, replacing Philip Goldstein. Both have been elected to the board of NewsCast.
Stewart Goldstein founded Eyecatchers Press 14 years ago and went on to buy Blink, the agency for photographic consumer PR and the advertising community in 2000 which was bought by NewsCast a year later. NewsCast has also been celebrating the registration of its 10,000th accredited user.
Goldstein said: “The addition of the BBC Picture Library images and the continued expansion of our syndication partners has meant we are seen as a major resource when sourcing pictures for the world press, as indicated by this achievement.
“A picture crosses all geographical and language boundaries and NewsCast ensures that our images reach the widest possible audience.”
