Tracy Corrigan, editor of FT.com, has been named the Association of Online Publishers editor of the year in the consumer category.
Chosen from a shortlist of eight website editors, Corrigan was presented her award at the AOP awards dinner on 21 October at London’s Grosvenor House hotel.
Before she was appointed to her present position in November 2002, Corrigan was deputy news editor.
She joined the Financial Times in 1990.
Judges at the AOP awards said: “FT.com makes excellent use of the medium to add value and Corrigan has been the driving force behind initiative after initiative that has worked.”
Other award winners included David Shepherd from XpertHR.co.uk for business magazine editor of the year, Management Consultancy for business design of the year, Simon Waldman of Guardian Newspapers for the AOP Chairman Award, and themodernworld.org.uk was named consumer design of the year.
