Natmags has appointed the editor-in- chief of its women's weeklies as the new editor of Cosmopolitan.
Louise Court currently oversees Reveal, Best and Real People at ACP-Natmags — the publisher's joint venture in women's weeklies with the Australian Consolidated Press, launched in November 2004.
Court replaces Sam Baker, who announced her intention to leave Cosmopolitan for Hachette Filipacchi's Red in August.
Court started her career working in the local press, before freelancing in Fleet Street, where she became a showbusiness writer for the Daily Express.
She moved to magazines, becoming assistant editor of Woman's Own, and worked on both Best and Prima as deputy editor, returning to Best as editor in 1998. In July 2005, she became ACP-Natmag editor-in-chief.
Natmags managing director Jessica Burley said: "I am thrilled that Louise will be the next editor of Cosmopolitan. She played a hugely important role in the launch of Reveal, and has been an extremely successful editor for nearly 10 years.
"This and her experience as a showbiz writer on the nationals made her the perfect person to take on one of the most coveted roles in the industry."
