Politico Europe has appointed Jack Blanchard as UK editor following the promotion of Kate Day to deputy editor-in-chief earlier this year.
Blanchard joined Politico to launch the London Playbook email newsletter in 2017 and in December 2020 started the brand’s flagship UK podcast Westminster Insider.
Ailbhe Rea has joined Politico from her role as political correspondent at the New Statesman, where she co-hosted its award-winning flagship podcast, to succeed Blanchard as host of Westminster Insider. He will continue to edit, co-host and co-produce the podcast.
Both new roles came into effect on Monday 16 May.
