Sky News Africa correspondent John Sparks, who is currently based in Johannesburg, is returning to the UK after four years in the role.
He will be replaced by Sudanese-British journalist Yousra Elbagir this summer. Elbagir has previously worked as a foreign reporter for Channel 4 News and Vice, as well as a freelance journalist and long-form filmmaker.
Elbagir said: “There’s a lot of work to do and this wonderful opportunity has come at the right place, at the right time. I’m so excited to get started.”
