Gavin Foster, editor of Newcastle-based ChronicleLive, has been announced as the new editor of the Northern Echo, taking over from Karl Holbrook who was recently appointed executive editor at the Daily Express.
Before taking charge of Reach-owned ChronicleLive just prior to the pandemic, Gavin held senior editorial
management roles with Johnston Press in Sunderland and Hartlepool.
Foster said: “The Northern Echo has a rich and proud history with a reputation for trusted, quality journalism. I look forward to helping lead the talented and experienced team at the great daily of the north to
grow audience and reach more people in the communities it serves.
