The Economist Group has named Michael Fleshman as the group’s new chief technology officer and Liz Goulding as chief product officer for The Economist and Economist Impact (formerly Economist Events).
Fleshman has previously served as senior vice president of consumer digital technology for BBC Worldwide and chief technology and information officer at the Financial Times.
Goulding joins from Discovery, Inc., where she had been group vice president for sports products. Previously she was head of digital platforms for Sky Sports.
The Economist Group said “The additions to the leadership team come as the Group is making substantial progress in its ongoing transition to a digital business… The Group has ambitious product roadmaps that put digital innovation at the centre of its offerings.”
