Redesigned Metro website sees traffic dip in December

By Press Gazette

Every national website audited by ABC was up year on year in December apart from the redesigned Metro, which saw traffic drop 37 per cent.

Metro unveiled ambitious plans to go 'mobile first' in November with new apps for Android and the Kindle Fire, alongside a realaunched website using 'responsive design' technology tailored to different devices.

Mail Online was once again the best performing title in terms of daily browsers, up 45.5 per cent year on year to 7,038,933, though it was down 0.9 per cent on November's figures.

The Independent recorded the best month-on-month traffic rise, up 13.7 per cent to 970,899 daily browsers.
