The publishers of a local blog covering Brixton in South London today expanded into print with the launch of the Brixton Bugle.
The new title has started off at eight pages, and a free distribution off 5,000, but has ambitions to expand.
It has been launched by twojournalists who are both in their twenties: freelance Tim Dickens and broadcast journalist Zoe Jewell.
The pair launched Brixtonblog.com two years ago and now claim 1,000 page views a day for the site.
Dickens, 27, started the blog after quitting his job as a reporter on the Ilford Reporter. He said: 'We are absolutely delighted to launch the Brixton Bugle in the place we love today.
"This is a grassroots newspaper that Zoe and I and the team have done ourselves in our bedrooms at home. We have high hopes that it will quickly become established as a key part of Brixton life.
"Although it is only eight pages we are already planning a bigger edition next month, and we hope it will quickly become fortnightly or even weekly."
He added: "The response from both readers and advertisers has been incredible."
"Because we live in Brixton we are able to respond quickly to breaking news, as well as cover community events and council meetings like no other news provider can. This signals the next chapter in the rise of hyperlocal journalism."
Tim said: "I would like to thank all of the contributors, writers, photographers and designers who have put hours and hours of work into this launch edition – all entirely voluntarily."
The launch of the new title comes after the South London Press relaunched its Friday edition as a series of localised titles – include one for the Brixton area.
