
Three-time British Press Awards winner Stephen Moyes has joined The Sun as a senior reporter.
He previously held the same job at the News of the World and was one of 250 staff to be placed on gardening leave when the title closed on 9 July.
Moyes won showbiz reporter of the year at the Society of Editors Press Awards (the new-look British Press Awards) this year for the News of the World and he won scoop of the year at the British Press Awards in 2006 and 2007 for the Daily Mirror.
Around 50 former News of the World staff are understood to have transferred to The Sun, including 30 working on magazine supplement Fabulous. Around 180 former News of the World staffers have either taken voluntary redundancy or been made compulsarily redundant.
Meanwhile, former News of the World showbiz editor Dan Wootton is understood to have been signed up by the Daily Mail.
