Telegraph’s sporting life

By Press Gazette

The Daily Telegraph has announced a series of promotions in its sports department.

Peter Mitchell has been promoted from deputy sports editor to sports editor, replacing Jon Ryan, who left in February this year after eight years. Football editor Jim Bruce-Ball has taken Mitchell’s role as deputy.

Former sports editor of the London Evening Standard, Martin Chilton, has been promoted to deputy sports editor (planning).

Former England rugby player Brian Moore has started a new weekly column every Thursday, in addition to his Monday rugby column, and the paper’s sport feature writer Andrew Baker is leading a new blog on Telegraph.co.uk, which will be ‘an irreverent look at the day’s sporting news”.
