Johnston Press has this week rolled out mobile versions for its 211 websites across the UK and Ireland.
In a release the company said:
The sites feature news, sport, lifestyle and community content, with video also now
available.
The group’s successful Find it directory is embedded within the mobile sites, enabling users to search for and check out local businesses and services whilst on the move.
There are also links to the online jobs and local deals platforms.
JP has appointed YOC, which operates one of the leading premium publisher mobile
advertising networks in the UK, to represent JP’s mobile advertising to agencies.
There will be two impressionable media slots on each of the main section and article pages.

Henry Faure Walker, digital and business development director at Johnston Press, said: ‘The launch of these mobile sites is another big boost for our local digital output.
There is clearly massive audience growth on mobile and we are intent on taking advantage of this by having the leading local mobile content and advertising offer in each of our markets.
We have a number of other mobile initiatives in the pipeline which will follow in early 2012.”
